Let me introduce myself. I was born and raised in Prague, a city I've lived in my entire life.

Growing up in Prague, I remember the city differently—its buildings were often hidden behind scaffolding, their façades worn and in need of repair. Back then, I was more interested in Western imports like new jeans than in the rich history surrounding me.

The Velvet Revolution in November 1989 transformed everything. I began working for a foreign company, interacting with visitors from around the world. Despite their busy schedules, many wanted a brief tour of the city centre, even if just for an hour to walk across the Charles Bridge, stroll along Nerudova Street, or climb up to Prague Castle. As the scaffolding slowly disappeared, the true beauty of Prague emerged—a city that one of my English colleagues described as "made of chocolate."

I found myself bombarded with questions about palaces, historical sites, and architectural details. To my surprise, many foreign visitors knew more about Prague’s history than I did. It was a turning point for me; I realized I had to deepen my understanding of my own city.

I enrolled in a specialized guide training course, where I met a mentor who left a big impact on me—Dr. Kadlec from the Prague Castle Tourist Service. His lectures were elements of detective stories, military sagas, lyrical poetry, science fiction, spy thrillers, and historical novels. He transformed historical figures from distant, abstract names into real people. Kings, queens, and nobles became more than just historical icons; they were individuals filled with love, ambition, intrigue, joy, and sorrow.

Through his stories, I fell in love with Prague and its captivating past. I discovered that history is far more than dates and events; it's a rich mosaic filled with the emotions and experiences of real people.

Since 2003, I have been guiding visitors eager to explore the rich history, stunning architecture, and fascinating legends of Prague and other historical Czech cities. Join me on a journey to uncover the many faces of Prague, and let me help you see this magnificent city in a new light.
